The Attic Movement follow up their debut release, “Leave The Car”, with new single – “Warm Light of Your Love” . Written by frontman, Matt Williams, it’s a song about the strongest kind of love, the kind that has the power to make you forget everything that came before. Already a solid fan favourite at live shows, audiences are often moved to tears by its tenderness. Featuring lilting harmonies amongst bouts of wailing slide guitar (courtesy of Nashville veteran Colin Linden) , the song’s alt-country leanings are reminiscent of “Smile” era Jayhawks combined with the sincere songwriting of Glen Hansard.
lyrics
[Verse 1]
You saw a picture,
You said how’d you know her?
I said, I met her in Geneva,
Or was it Genoa.
Genevieve was her name,
Or was it Sarah,
Could have been Clara,
Don’t really remember
[Chorus]
It doesn’t matter, it’s all the same,
Because they came before you,
And in the warm light of your love,
My memory’s true,
[Verse 2]
The first was a redhead,
Or was she a brunette,
Maybe she dyed it,
It could have been shaved,
One of them acted,
Another played trumpet,
I have to admit,
Those memories have faded,
In the warm light of your love,
‘Cause I’m drawn to the flame,
[Chorus]
It doesn’t matter, it’s all the same,
Because they came before you,
And in the warm light of your love,
My memory’s true,
[Bridge]
My memory’s true,
My memory’s true
My memory’s true.
[Verse 3]
I was so sentimental,
Prone to nostalgia,
Kept old love letters,
But it’s years since I read ‘em
[Chorus]
It doesn’t matter, it’s all the same,
Because they came before you,
And in the warm light of your love,
Nothing else can shine through,
It doesn’t matter, it’s all the same,
Because they came before you,
And in the warm light of your love,
My memory’s true,
My memory’s true,
My memory’s true.

The brilliant sound of Before Breakfast. Singing along to their latest single "Wreck" at the top of your lungs is very cathartic. That and this were recorded by our wonderful producer Chris Wilkinson The Attic Movement
